Mam was a very unselfish person. We all knew she was there if we needed anything. There were 7
children,4 girls and 3 boys. She lived for us.We were her life.Mam spent the last 12 years of her
life with health problems. The start of her problems was when she crushed her thumb in an
accident. This led to an operation to make it better but she ended up with a paralised arm. Then she
suffered depression.Mam was a smoker and she got Emphasema.Nothing could stop her smoking ,she would
say it was too late for her.Five years before she died she was told she had throat cancer. She had a
long course of radiotherapy and her results seemed good but her health deteriorated she became
housebound and in the end I believe she gave up.Mam was 64 when she passed away.My Dad has just
recently been re-united with her and our youngest sister Paula passed away 2 years ago,as the result
of a tragic accident.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly fallen snow
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
of beautiful birds in circling flight
I am in the star shine of the night
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.

Those we love remain with us
For love itself lives on
And cherished memories never fade
Because a loved ones gone
Those we love can never be
More than a thought apart
For as long as there is memory
They live on in the heart

When a loved one becomes a memory
That memory becomes a treasure

Heather Stonehouse (Daughter) March 6, 2009

As we loved you ,so we miss you
In our memory you are near
Loved,remembered,longed for always
Bringing many a silent tear

Heather Stonehouse (Daughter) March 6, 2009

Right now I'm in a different place
And though we seem apart
I'm closer than I ever was
... I'm there inside your heart

I'm with you when you greet each day
And while the sun shines bright
I'm there to share the sunsets, too
... I'm with you every night

I'm with you when the times are good
To share a laugh or two,
And if a tear should start to fall
... I'll still be there for you

And when that day arrives
That we no longer are apart,
I'll smile and hold you close to me
... Forever in my heart

rest in peace
